The manufacture and use of a product across its lifetime creates and releases CO2 into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming. When a product is referred to as 'Carbon Neutral' it means that the negative addition of those emissions is balanced by an equivalent amount being avoided or removed.
This 'life cycle' assessment includes emissions from the manufacturing process such as extracting raw materials or dying fabric. It includes the transportation needed to move materials to their place of final assembly and then later to your door. The impact of adding your logo is included, as well as any washing and laundering in its life ahead.
If it sounds complex, it is! To complete the calculation, Life Cycle assessors gather a mixture of actual data provided by factories involved, as well as secondary standardized data from specialized databases and standards organizations.
Once gathered, the supplier of our product works with a Carbon Offset organization to identify suitable projects and provide payment into such programs.
