Antimicrobial Additives
The presence of antimicrobial additives in promotional products and apparel has become increasingly popular in recent years. Additives, whether they're knit into the apparel's fabric or molded into the pen's barrel, are included during the product's production process. In both situations the additive limits the growth of potentially harmful bacteria on the surface of the product.
In garments, such additives are particularly useful in uniforms and workwear, as the limited growth of bacteria can also prevent the development of unpleasant odors.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is the government agency responsible for regulating the use of antimicrobial additives. All antimicrobial additives are verified by 4imprint, with the EPA's database, before sale at 4imprint.
