Day after day, nonprofits across the country work to strengthen their communities and make the world a better place. Whether they’re providing educational opportunities, enriching lives or helping others in need, their impact reaches far and wide. And it’s not just their programs that show ingenuity—many also bring that same creativity to their marketing and outreach efforts. Read how four organizations used nonprofit promotional products—provided with help from 4imprint one by one® grants—to amplify their messages and advance their missions.

Encouraging healthy tech habits

Nature Unplugged opens in new window is an organization that helps people break free from the constant pull of technology to find a way to live with balance and intention in a noisy digital world. Through education, coaching, workshops and outdoor experiences—including guided hikes—the nonprofit empowers individuals, families and organizations to build healthier relationships with each other, nature and devices.

A one by one grant provided microfiber phone pouches the team dubbed “smartphone sleeping bags.” At the beginning of educational programming, guided hikes and other events, the pouches are handed out to participants to put their phones “to sleep” for the remainder of the activity. Recipients take the pouches home to serve as a reminder of Nature Unplugged and its message.

Helping Kenyans grow and learn

Kiwimbi International opens in new window works to empower underserved rural communities in Kenya through educational support. Its efforts include providing teaching assistants to schools, vocational training, literacy development and other enrichment projects, all designed to help individuals and communities reach their full potential.

Held on a sunny day in June, the Kiwimbi 5K/10K Run-Walk was an important event for the organization. The fundraiser brought together more than 100 supporters to enjoy festivities, including Kenyan music and decorations, prizes handmade by Kenyan artists, and post-race treats. A one by one grant provided event T-shirts for participants. Along with serving as a souvenir and helping raise awareness for the run/walk, the shirts were used to recognize event sponsors.

Bringing STEAM to students

The Project Fibonacci® Foundation opens in new window is a nonprofit that promotes science, technology, engineering, arts and math education across New York. Named for Leonardo “Fibonacci” Bonnaci—a renowned 12th and 13th century mathematician—the organization runs youth innovation camps, a literacy program, professional development events for educators and more.

Students attending the organization’s seventh annual conference were given swag bags through a one by one grant. Each drawstring sportpack contained a water bottle, notebook, sticker, pen, pin and an outdoor essentials kit. The nonprofit promotional items helped elevate the experience for all involved.

Caring for animals and educating the public

Coastal Wilds opens in new window is a zoological park that provides opportunities for people to meet and learn about animals. Located near the Delaware shore, the park is home to more than 40 species of “ambassadors,” including kangaroos, otters, sloths, camels, capybara and lynx. Focused on education, its team is guided by a commitment to conservation, community and the animals under its care.

In September, Coastal Wilds held its fourth annual Brews & Roos event—its largest fundraiser. The event offered a VIP experience with a sloth encounter and exclusive nonprofit swag items including coolers purchased with a one by one grant. Nearly 500 people gathered to support the cause, making the fundraising event an outstanding success.
