Probably works well when traveling but I found that the pouch to keep the laptop in is ackward. Don't really see a reason to put it in the pouch even when traveling, though. Still have to take the pouch out of the backpack. Shoulder straps are not padded very well. Long periods of wearing with a load is uncomfortable. Compartments for long things, like pens, pencils and laser pointers is not long enough. Only ~half of the item will fit in the compartment and the other hangs out, ready to fall out.
