Wings for Autism is a new event that allows The Arc to provide training to airport personnel about autism, and it gives families a chance to practice taking their children with autism to the airport. This is a high-stress event for participants so having a fun toy to play with was a big success. The plane was easy to put together for the children and their families, and it doesn't require any special tools. Because the plane was related to the day's airport activities, it was especially appropriate for the occasion and garnered lots of smiles. The fact that we could use our organization's colors and brand it means that the children will help to promote our nonprofit as they play with the plane at their friends' homes.
