So, I started this month's issue by doing some research on golf. There is a ton of information out there about the subject (can you tell I'm not a golfer, although Tiger and I share the same birthday).

With approximately 30.3 million golfers out there (according to the National Golf Federation), chances are you know someone who plays: your business partner, clients, donors to your charitable organization and so on. To make a lasting impression with them - one that could provide you with more moola - check out this issue for the latest trends and tips on golf.

Golf is the oldest organized sport in the world. And March and April are the prime months to get your logo in the hands of golfers. After all, winter is over, so many players are able to start fine-tuning their skills and look for the newest accessories.

Start with apparel. Moisture-management fabrics are a great gift for favorite clients or sponsors of a golf tournament. These fabrics "breathe" and don't stick to the skin. Remember that playing a round of golf can take at least four hours - sometimes in high heat. No one wants to be a sweaty, smelly mess afterwards, especially in front of clients or potential donors. You might want to get a moisture-management shirt for yourself if you'll be golfing, too.

When golfing with clients, keep business to a minimum, especially in the beginning. Just relax and enjoy a break from the office; the client will thank you for it. You can address business toward the end of the game. And above all - don't gamble. You want to build and maintain a good relationship with them.

Even women's golf apparel is making strides, especially with the popularity of Annika Sorenstam and Michelle Wie. Women's apparel is no longer a smaller version of the man's shirt. There are more feminine styles available, many that can go from the board room to the golf course.

Golf accessories are also a big hit with golfers (pun intended). Just ask my husband. I can't tell you the number of golf balls and tees in our house. Some have a logo on them, some are colored, most of them he got for free. They came from other business people who knew he golfed and from the various courses he plays at.

The imprint area of golf balls isn't very large, usually within a 7/8-inch to 1-inch diameter. So choose what you want imprinted on them carefully.

Other popular accessories are: shoe bags, golf ball retrievers, score card holders, ball markers and golf pencils.

Since golfers are outside so much, they need protection from the sun and water to keep them hydrated. These are also welcome gifts, especially at a golf tournament.

This fall we started a new project - Brand with Ten Grand. One organization would be chosen to get $10,000 worth of promotional products. The catch was they had to tell us what they would do with those products and they had to actually work with us, too.

After reviewing applications, conducting interviews with the finalists and after having you vote on your favorite finalist video - we have a winner!

The Brand with Ten Grand organization is River City Rubber Works. We sent them a 4imprint Blue Box, so they would know they won. Lets just say it was a really big Blue Box and they were very surprised. How surprised? You can check out the video of them as they figure out theyve won by visiting http://tengrand.4imprint.com/.

Over the next few months, you'll see what products River City is going to use to build their business and why. Plus, you'll hear about it in their own words. Keep visiting http://www.4imprint.com/tengrand to get the latest news on our winner!
