But there are so many different styles and features on embroidered caps that it's good to know as much as you can before ordering. Structured vs. unstructured caps:
Structured baseball caps are reinforced with a sturdier fabric behind the front two panels to help retain the shape of the hat. This cap style tends to have a sportier look that is suited well for teams and athletic promotions. Snapback and trucker caps are examples of structured caps. Unstructured caps are designed without reinforced fabric behind the two front panels of the cap. These unstructured caps tend to have a casual, relaxed look that fits closer to your head.

How many panels?
Most of our printed caps have five or six panels. There is a panel on each side, two in back and one or two in front. The number of panels gives you different design options. Remember, artwork design help at 4imprint is always free!

High, medium or low profile?
A cap's profile refers to the crown height. The crown is the front of the cap above the brim. A low profile baseball cap usually has a 2- or 3-inch crown. A high profile cap has a 4-inch crown or more, and a medium profile will be somewhere between the two. A low profile cap fits more tightly on the head. Dad hats are an example of a popular low profile cap. Low profile custom caps are popular with golfers, baseball players and other active sports enthusiasts. High profile caps are always structured to support the higher crown. We offer hundreds of choices to give you plenty of options for your customers, prospects and staff! Adjustable hat closures:
Classic snapback adjustments use a plastic strap with holes on one side and plastic pegs on the other that fit together. Hook-and-loop material is another popular cap closure. Buckles, straps and sliders are other options. Fitted hats (such as the FlexFit® brand) have an elastic band and are typically sold in sizes to fit small, medium or large heads.
